ABOUT THIS CAMP

This face-to-face camp has been designed for students to enjoy, have fun and learn. Our face-to-face Pre-Medicine summer camp groups are small to enable tutors and students greater scope for interaction, dialogue, questions and answers. We motivate students to develop their understanding of medicine while having fun. We stimulate students to interact with medical doctors and medical students and questions about what is like to study medicine and to be a medical doctor. We teach students to learn how to identify a problem and look for a solution. We also foster the development of resilience. Sometimes, some students tend to give up easily. We teach students that they need to try for alternate solutions to a given problem.

WHAT WE TEACH

We encourage students to learn and discuss in-depth science facts and concepts. We also motivate students to have a good understanding of biology, chemistry and physics and the way medicine impact our day to day lives. Students work on activities to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience.

TOPICS INCLUDE

Introduction to Medical School, Circulation, Breathing, The Defence System, Genetics and Cancer, Clinical skills, Regenerative Medicine, Public Health, Anatomy, Microbiology, Emergency Medicine, Personal and Professional Development, Mental Health, Surgical Skills, Psychiatry, Life Cycle, Neuroscience, Musculoskeletal Biology, Endocrinology, Metabolism.

DIFFERENTIATION

At Richer Education, we understand that ‘one size does not fit all‘. Therefore, our tutors and mentors differentiate the content of our sessions. We ensure that all children, regardless of their level of knowledge, are engaged at the appropriate level and pace.
