Tutor-Child Ratio: 1:10 (minimum 4 children, maximum 10 children). We will offer you an alternative course if the course is fully booked or if the course does not open.
Resources for the session: Children will need to have access to stationery, including pens or pencils and paper.
About this camp: This virtual camp has been designed for children to enjoy, have fun and learn. Our virtual courses are small to enable tutors and children greater scope for interaction, dialogue, questions and answers. We motivate children to develop their understanding of science while having fun. We also stimulate children to be creative. We teach children how to identify a problem and look for a solution. We also foster the development of resilience. Sometimes, some children tend to give up easily. We teach children that they need to try for alternate solutions to a given problem.
What we teach: We encourage children to learn and discuss in-depth science facts and concepts. We also motivate children to have a good understanding of biology, chemistry and physics and the way science impact our day to day lives. Children work on activities to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork and resilience.
Topics include: Eye See You, Metals Matter, Totally Tropical, Separating Mixtures, Lights and Lasers, Fluorescent Chemistry, Film Star Science, Energy Stores and Transfers, Carbon Chemistry, A Little Birdie, Fizzy Chemistry, Mighty Magnetism, Let’s Circulate, Nutrition and Excretion, Amazing Aeronautics, Radical Rockets, Royal Science, Brilliant Bubbles, We Teach This Periodically, Something Fishy, Bones of Steel, The Centre of the Cell.
Differentiation: We understand that ‘one size does not fit all‘. Therefore, our tutors and mentors differentiate the content of our sessions. We ensure that all children, regardless of their level of knowledge, are engaged at the appropriate level and pace.
